Review and take note of the general recommendations that you should know before traveling to the enchanted islands of Galapagos.

Before travelling
Each destination around the world comes with its own set of issues. Seasoned travelers understand that travel planning is an essential part of the process—in other words, you don’t simply pick a destination and go. It’s important to understand language, customs, transportation, health care, and more.
How to Travel to the Galapagos Islands?
In order to visit the Galapagos Islands, you first travel to mainland Ecuador. All the flights that we use to go to the Galapagos leave from Quito and fly direct or make a stop in Guayaquil.
From Quito
- Arrive at Mariscal Sucre Airport (40-50 minutes from Quito).
- Be 2 or 3 hours before flight departure.
- Buy the “Transit control card” that costs $20 at the Consejo de Gobierno del Régimen Especial de Galapagos counter (CGREG). During the high season the waiting line to buy the card could take one hour.
- Go directly to Agencia de Regulación y Control de la Bioseguridad y Cuarentena para Galapagos (ABG) for luggage inspection.
- Follow the normal process for a flight.
- Go to the X-Ray inspection.
- Go to the departure lounge.
- Follow the process for boarding the plane
From Guayaquil
- Arrive at José Joaquin de Olmedo Airport.
- Be 2 or 3 hours before flight departure.
- Buy the “Transit control card” that costs $20 at the Consejo de Gobierno del Régimen Especial de Galapagos counter (CGREG). In high season the waiting line to buy the card could take one hour.
- Go directly to Agencia de Regulación y Control de la Bioseguridad y Cuarentena para Galapagos (ABG) for luggage inspection.
- Follow the normal procedure for a flight.
- Go to the X-Ray inspection.
- Go to the departure lounge.
- Follow the process for boarding the plane
Arrival to San Cristobal Galapagos Island
- Present the ABG affidavit given in the airplane.
- Present the Transit Control Card.
- Pay the Galapagos National Park entrance fee.
- Go directly to luggage inspection.
- Pick up your luggage.
- Our guides will be waiting for you at the San Cristobal Airport holding a sign with the name of your cruise Galaxy, Ecogalaxy or Alya.
- Our guides will help you with your luggage or anything else you need.
- After a 5 minute drive on a private bus, we will arrive at the port.
- At the port, we will board a small boat that takes us to the cruise (5 minutes).

What to do when you arrive in Baltra?
Arrival Baltra Galapagos Islands
- Present the ABG affidavit given in the airplane.
- Present the Transit Control Card.
- Pay the Galapagos National Park entrance fee.
- Go directly to the luggage inspection.
- Pick up your luggage.
- Our guides will be waiting for you at the Baltra Airport holding a sign with the name of your cruise Galaxy, Ecogalaxy or Alya.
- Our guides will help you with your luggage or anything else that you need.
- A public bus of the airline will take you to the Itabaca Channel or Seymour Port (it depends on your itinerary).
- If you go to Itabaca, you will cross to Santa Cruz Island, on the other side of the channel; this will take approximately 20 minutes.
- During the ride by private bus to Puerto Ayora (45 minutes), you will be able to see endemic vegetation. If you go to Seymour Port you will take the boat there (20 minutes).
Health
It is advisable to be healthy before traveling, so as not to miss the scheduled activities. However, in case of any sudden inconvenience, it will be replanned according to the needs of the passengers.Gastrointestinal infections with signs of dehydration are the most frequent diseases that tourists can present.
Book in advance
We suggest that tourists make their reservation 2 months in advance, preferably if they are going to travel in high season (December - August). If you travel in the months of September - November, there will be no problem if you make your reservation at the last minute.
